Plusnet broadband overview

Plusnet started out business as an ISP in the late 1990’s in Yorkshire and although they were bought out in 2007 by BT they have retained their Yorkshire roots and are still operated under their own brand.

Broadband packages from Plusnet vary between 10Mb and 66Mb average speeds depending on the package you choose and in contrast with other broadband providers there is a greater degree of flexibility in contract length at Plusnet. They are one of the only ISP’s that offer a no annual contract term (14 days’ notice to cancel) and you do not have to have your home landline with Plusnet to obtain broadband from them. So if you are looking for a short term home broadband option Plusnet is an excellent option.

Broadband packages from Plusnet are very competitively priced and are regularly among the best value on the market.

If you are looking to switch broadband from your current provider to Plusnet there is a useful guide on the Plusnet site that provides details.

Can I get Plusnet broadband? Use our Plusnet broadband checker

The ability to get Plusnet broadband will depend on where you live within the UK. Plusnet is owned by BT so that means the chances of you being able to get Plusnet broadband are high because BT has the widest broadband coverage area.

Pricing is typically cheaper than the parent company BT’s pricing because although they share an infrastructure, Plusnet install their own equipment in telephone exchanges and as a consequence can provide cost savings which are passed onto the company.

Plusnet fibre broadband uses the same technology as the BT Infinity (Superfast) network infrastructure so the availability will be dependent on whether BT has rolled out superfast broadband in an area close to you.

To check whether you can get Plusnet fibre or standard ADSL use our broadband postcode checker tool. You simply need to enter your home postcode into the tool and we will output all of the broadband deals you could get at your location.
